Northwoods Knives: Norfolk Whittler

A simple knife with a classic design. "Northwoods Knives is a company associated with American made, quality, useable knives. Dave Shirley started the company over 30 years ago with an emphasis of recreating designs that had been favored for generations."

Prometheus Design Werx All Terrain Sticker

I love a good sticker and I've really liked this design since PDW first showed it. It just has a great overall "wilderness" look to it. I have the morale patch version of this design and the thread, especially in the water, is just incredible up close. "From summit to sea, and any wilderness in between, the graphic on this morale patch design shows that you are someone who is proficient in the skills to operate in “All Terrains”. You are comfortable and confident in any outdoor environment. Field skills are second nature, you are at home in the outdoors, and you not only know how to just survive, but thrive in the wilderness."

As a side note, it's a bummer that they don't show an actual photo of the sticker. Oh and if you're a fan of the design, check out their wallpaper version available for download.

[Semi-Acquired] Gränsfors Bruks Small Forest Axe

"The Gränsfors Small Forest Axe has a larger head and a longer handle than the Wildlife Hatchet and therefore provides more chopping power. However, it is still small enough to fit into a rucksack. The Small Forest Axe is excellent for felling trees and limbing." Photo by Jeff More

Update: I purchased an alternative, the Wetterlings Outdoor Axe and I'm very much satisfied with it.

Sanborn Canoe Company Field Hankie

"We've taken the iconic red handkerchief and put our spin on it. Employing soft and breathable woven chambray fabric the Field Hankie is for dipping in the lake to cool your brow after a rigorous paddle into a head-wind, it is for wiping your hands after switching out a few plugs on your Indian Scout motorbike, it is for tying around your neck in crisp fall weather and a sunblock in the summer, it is an emergency potholder(not recommended for anything too hot), it is for cleaning your glasses and it is for gathering berries. So, yes, it's a fabric swiss-army knife without pointy bits, for use in every tight spot and likely occasion."

Alone in the Wilderness DVD Series

"Dick Proenneke retired at age 50 in 1967 and decided to build his own cabin on the shore of Twin Lakes. The first summer he scouted for the best cabin site, and cut and peeled the logs he would need for his cabin. Dick Proenneke returned the next summer to finish the cabin where he lived for over 30 years. Dick filmed his adventures, and Bob Swerer later turned the film into a video so we can all watch this amazing man build his cabin by hand."
